ABOUT USLeonie Mead - Owner - Sea Kayak Instructor
Leonie is a sea kayaking instructor based in Oban, on the West Cost of Scotland. As well as running her own business she also works as freelance instructor for other companies.
I first started paddling about 15 years ago and have paddled the coastline around Oban and the islands extensively. I've also paddled further afield both in New Zealand and America.
I love exploring and being on the sea. The peace and tranquility it offers just can't be matched. Scotland's ever changing weather provides the most varied conditions and I'll never tire of its coastline. I love being able to share my passion with others, enabling them to enjoy our stunning waters safely by providing the skills and confidence they need.
I am a qualified sea kayak coach currently holding the BCU's UKCC Level 2 Coach and 4 Star Leader awards.
Went not leading groups or coaching, I can usually be found on the sea! Either kayaking for fun, exploring further afield on our sailing boat 'Seal' or volunteering as a crew member for Oban's RNLI Lifeboat. I also run my own vinyl graphic design business Art & Sea.
